Casino night
The nonprofit Hermosa Beach Firefighters Association hosts its second annual Poker/Casino Night and Raffle Event Saturday, Nov. 6 at Hotel Belamar in Manhattan Beach. Poker starts at 4:30 p.m. and the “hottest charity event in the South Bay” includes $5,000 in cash raffle prizes, music, a silent auction, casino prizes, hors d’oeuvres and a no-host bar. Sponsorships range from $50 to $2,000.

Pier party
The Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center and local merchants are holding a grand reopening party for the newly remade upper Pier Avenue, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13. The event will feature live music, kids’ attractions and sidewalk sales. Plans call for 93.1 Jack FM to broadcast live 10 a.m. to noon. ER
