Park(ing) Day

Manhattan Beach pier’s parking lot will be transformed into a temporary public park this Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of PARK(ing) Day, an annual worldwide event to promote community and open space. The event, organized by Beach Cities Health District and Blue Zones Project, will include yoga and Tai Chi demos, bicycle decoration station for kids and sustainable landscaping and garden displays. Coffee and lemonade will be provided.

Mira Costa Hall of Fame

Eight distinguished Mira Costa High School alumni will be inducted Friday into the Hall of Fame. The breakfast reception begins at 8:30 a.m. in the library; the first induction assembly begins at 9:40 a.m., the second assembly at 11 a.m.

Inductees include the following alumni:
