Chinese New Year

Super Bowl 10K

On Sunday, Feb. 2, Redondo Beach will host the 36th Annual Super Bowl 10K race, which is expected to involve an approximate 8,000 participants. Residents should expect traffic delays in the areas west of PCH and south of Herondo St. extending to the Riviera Village, between the hours of 6 and 11 a.m. For questions regarding specific road closures, contact Sgt. El Redondo Chapter, National Society of The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), has honored three Redondo teachers – Ryan O’Kain of Parras Middle School and Christine Williams and Amber Keller of Redondo Union High – with awards recognizing their exemplary service to the school community.

DAR chapters around the country award recognition to notable, full-time teachers of American history (and related fields, such as social studies, government, and citizenship education) in public, private, and parochial schools.

DV advocates wanted

The Redondo Beach Police Department Domestic Violence Victims Advocacy Program will be conducting interviews to fill open on-call volunteer positions.

Candidates interested in becoming an on-call volunteer victim advocate must have a car, valid California driver’s license, and auto insurance; pass a background check; be available for a minimum of four 12-hour shifts per months, including some on evenings and weekends; be able to climb up and down 20 or more stairs with no assistance; and live within 15 minutes of Redondo Beach.
