The Grilled Cheese Truck is visiting Redondo Beach on Saturday, Nov. 2. From 6 to 9 p.m., the truck will be parked in the Osborn’s Automotive lot on the corner of Ave. B and PCH.
Howloween
Friends of the Redondo Beach Dog Park hosted a Howloween Hoedown last Saturday, and Nancy Grenier snapped this photos of a costumed canine. Qi Gong
Cancer Support Community-Redondo Beach will host Benj Sinskul, Medical Qi (Chi) Gong Practitioner on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to noon at 109 West Torrance Blvd, Redondo Beach. Sinskul will share his advanced training in Chinese Medical Qi Gong Therapy and Chinese Clinical Oncology to introduce participants to the classical Chinese medicine perspective of the energetics of food.

Financial planning for same sex couples
Lisa Garey, senior vice president-wealth management financial advisor with Morgan Stanley, will give a talk on Monday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 109 West Torrance Blvd, Redondo Beach for same sex couples wanting to learn about their rights and choices in making financial decisions. Small indie business grants
Two Redondo Beach businesses — Harmony Works in the Riviera Village and Kate Lester Interiors on PCH –were recently awarded Small Indie Business Grant Awards from ShopLocal.us, an organization that recognizes small business owners in the South Bay and aims to assist them in growing or maintaining their business.
Founded nearly 20 years ago by owners Royce and Michael Morales, Harmony Works features one-of-a-kind gift items and accessories made by new and local artists and craftspeople.

“Both Royce and Michael have been active leaders within the community, boosting support for the arts, local businesses, commerce and economic development here in Redondo Beach,” said ShopLocal.us founder Heidi Butzine. “Their commitment to environmental consciousness and supporting independent artisans and first-time vendors is seen in the items that they showcase here at Harmony Works. Thanks to their dedication and perseverance, we continue to have this one-of-a-kind treasure in the South Bay community and hope to enjoy it for at least another twenty years.”
Design firm Kate Lester, founded five years ago, has grown to serve a variety of clients throughout Southern California specializing in custom homes and the design and building process.

Kate is a great inspiration to business owners and entrepreneurs for starting a business with very little and growing it into a success.”
