Veterans Picnic
Redondo Beach will observe Veterans Day at the new Veterans Memorial in VeteransParkat the beach at 1 p.m. on Nov. 11. The solemn observance will include reflection and remembrance, music, commentary and honors to all those members of the military who have served their country. Keynote speaker will be the Captain of the port of L.A. Capt. Roger R. Laferriere, United States Coast Guard. Other participants will include local elected officials and military dignitaries. The service will be followed by a BBQ picnic sponsored by the Redondo Elks. The BBQ is free to all veterans and members of the military. A $5 donation is recommended from all others.
