Scores rank Manhattan Beach school district third in state

Manhattan Beach Unified School District maintains its ranking as third in the state for kindergarten through 12th grade districts, right behind San Marino Unified and La Canada Unified, according to the district’s analysis of the Academic Performance Index scores released by the California Department of Education last week.

Manhattan Beach City Council unanimously voted on Tuesday to appoint the law firm Richards, Watson and Gershon to provide city attorney services. Roxanne Diaz will serve as city attorney.

Both squads face talented opponents with Mira Costa hosting defending Ocean League champion Inglewood and Redondo taking on visiting Serra, the reigning CIF Western Division champions. Both games kick off at 7 p.m.
