Armed man robs Manhattan Beach dry cleaners

A man brandishing a pistol robbed a family-owned dry cleaning business in north Manhattan Beach on the morning of Nov. 27, according to police.

Just before 9:40 a.m. that Wednesday, the suspect entered Manhattan Beach Cleaners in the 3200 block of Highland Avenue. He displayed a pistol to a lone employee and demanded money out of the registers as well as her purse. Fearing her safety, the victim gave money to the suspect, who fled out the door. No getaway vehicle was seen, MBPD Public Information Officer Stephanie Martin said.

The suspect is described as 28-to-33-year-old white or hispanic man with medium complexion and a tall thin build. He was seen with a scruffy beard, wearing a navy blue or grey sweater and blue jeans.

Anyone with information is advised to contact MBPD Detective Mike Rosenberger at 310-802-5127.
