Running: The 31st Annual Jet to Jetty 5K/10K Run/Walk benefiting Airport Marina Counseling Service (AMCS) will be held at Dockweiler State Beach beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Entry fee for the 5K and 10K is $35 and includes parking at Dockweiler. The Kid’s Fun Run fee is $15. Beach Volleyball: The California Beach Volleyball Association (CBVA) hosts the Cal Cup Youth Championships in Manhattan Beach on Saturday, Aug. 29. Smack Sportswear will be hosting the Patriot’s Day co-ed 4’s beach volleyball tournament on Saturday, Sept. 12 on the south side of the Hermosa Beach Pier. Festivities also include an apple pie eating contest, three-legged races and more. A portion of the proceeds benefit Tuesday’s Children, an organization dedicated to providing support for children and family impacted by 9/11. Triathlon: Registration is open for the Day at the Beach Triathlon to be held at 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 in Hermosa Beach. The event includes a 1/4 mile ocean swim, 10 mile bike and 3 mile run.
