Spitting on officer A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly spitting on a police officer. Officers were called to the 500 block of Pier Avenue, between Valley Drive and Bard Street, shortly after midnight. They found a male suspect and, at some point during the encounter, the man allegedly spit at one of the officers, according to police reports.
