Spate of unrelated indecent exposures in Manhattan Beach

There were three instances of men exposing themselves in Manhattan Beach on Mar. 14, all of which were unrelated, according to the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

The first instance occurred around 11:50 a.m. on Pacific Avenue near 31st Street, when a man pulled up in a car next to a female victim who was walking along the street, police said. The driver began asking for directions while masturbating. The female victim walked away and the man drove off, according to MBPD.

Later around 12:45 p.m., another man pulled up in a car at a bus stop on Manhattan Avenue near 11th Street where a woman was waiting. The man, who was driving a four-door black sedan and was described as 20- to 25-years-old, five feet 11 inches, clean shaven with a scrawny build and black hair, waved to the woman. When she approached, the man asked where she was going.

“Although she had not requested any type of car or taxi service and there were no markings on the vehicle, the female entered the vehicle and asked the male to take her to Redondo Beach,” the police said in a press release.

After the woman got in, “the male exposed himself, began to masturbate and asked the female if she would engage in sexual acts with him,” said the press release. About 15 minutes later, the woman asked the man to let her out, which he did on Artesia Boulevard near Rindge Lane.

“According to the female, she was not touched or threatened at any time,” police said.

A few hours later around 4:02 p.m., a witness called police to report that a man was masturbating while talking with a group of kids on the Manhattan Beach Pier. Police arrested the man. ER
