The South Bay Force Girls U16 club soccer team went undefeated in the North Huntington Beach Cup soccer tournament, shutting out Crown City United 2-0 in the championship match. Tennis

Professional tennis players John Isner and Sam Querrey, who form the core of the US Davis Cup team, will be holding the Inaugural Charity Challenge tennis exhibition at the Manhattan Beach Country Club on Sunday, Dec. 5. Scheduled to participate are former world #1’s Lindsay Davenport and Tracy Austin along with other high profile stars to be announced. The event is set to be a unique showcase and combination of tennis and Hollywood with proceeds going to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Fundraisers

Christmas tree orders are being taken as the baseball programs of Mira Costa and Redondo high schools hold their annual fundraisers. Velocity Sports Performance coaches train athletes in grade 3-8 in improving first step quickness, lateral speed and top speed while reducing the likelihood of injury. Camps are held Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m. from Nov. 1 through Dec. 8. Cost is $199 for twice/week, $119 for once/week. A Sports Fundamental Camp for 1st & 2nd graders will be held Mondays and Thursday from 4-5 p.m. during the same weeks. The City of Hermosa Beach presents the Fall Pier-to-Pier Walk/Run Saturday, Nov. 13 beginning at the Hermosa Beach Pier at 7 a.m. Fees are $25 per runner until Saturday, Oct. 23 ($35 after). Volleyball

Team Complete Athletes (TCA) Volleyball offers programs from the developmental level to national elite college prep training for girls ages 10 to 18. TCA has multiple locations in Southern California, including the Hangar Athletic Xchange, 3203 Jack Northrop Ave. in Hawthorne. Younger girls will be placed on teams depending on skill level. Older ages will compete for spots. Tryouts for girls 14-and-under run through October. Older girls tryout in November. Plans start as low as $150 per month with flexible payment options. Dave Miller, former New Orleans Hornets/NCAA basketball coach will be hosting his annual Holiday Basketball Clinic December 22-24 at the Spectrum Athletic Club South Bay and will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. The Smackbowl Men’s and Women’s Flag Football Tournament on the Beach returns Saturday, Nov. 13 at 10th Street and The Strand in Hermosa Beach. Teams created in advance by captains, 5-on-5 (maximum of 10 players per team) begin play promptly at 10:30 a.m. The cost of the tournament is $160 per team via pre-registration only at the Hermosa Beach Community Center, 710 Pier Ave, Hermosa Beach, or online at www.hermosabch.org.
