Veterans Day Dedication
Redondo Beach dedicates its new Veterans Memorial at Veterans Park beginning at 2 p.m. A culmination of several years of grassroots fundraising and community outreach, the ceremonies include music and honors to America’s veterans, and special guest speaker Colonel David Sutherland, US Army, a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, currently assigned as Director of Warrior and Family Support and Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff at the Pentagon. 3 p.m. followed by a reception at the Senior Center. Order of Daedalians Salute
Terranea Resort honors military servicemen on Veterans Day with the local chapter of The Order of Daedalians, dressed in White Point for a special lunch and celebration beginning at 11:30 a.m. The Daedalians, founded just after WWI and comprised of former US Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine and Navy pilots, provides scholarships to promote patriotism and good character in the nation’s youth. 100 Terranea Way, Rancho Palos Verdes.
