β€œNo end to this expansion in sight, despite the all the insane headlines,” Beacons Economics founder Christopher Thornberg told the Palos Verdes Chamber of Commerce at its annual installation breakfast in January.

Thornberg compared the economy to Goldilocks’ porridge. β€œNot too hot, not too cold.”

The economist made his name as a forecaster by predicting the 2008 Great Recession in 2006, a recession almost all other forecasters missed.

On Thursday, June 18 at 1 p.m., in a talk again hosted by the Palos Verdes Chamber of Commerce, Thornberg will discuss β€œWhat shape recovery: Understanding the Economic Consequences of the Lockdown.” Hopefully, he will also discuss how he missed forecasting the Great Recession of 2020.

The talk will be online. Tickets are $20 for chamber members, $25 for non members at PalosVerdesChamber.com.  ER
