The Palos Verdes High School baseball team returned to school and practices this week after completing a 10-day quarantine, the school’s athletic director Brian Shapiro said on Tuesday. The team’s quarantine began over the weekend of April 16, when five of the players tested positive for COVID-19. The team is not being allowed to play games against other schools, but Shapiro said he is hopeful that restriction will be lifted soon. He said there have been no more COVID-19 cases reported among the players since the initial outbreak.
Shapiro said the school has not been able to trace the cause of the outbreak, but that the school strictly abides by COVID-19 protocols set by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
“I feel students, coaches and teachers are doing a good job of adhering to guidelines. But there are risks associated with every activity. So we have to be vigilant, on and off campus,” Shapiro said ER
