Uncorked uncorks this weekend
Uncorked, The Wine Shop, at the corner of Pier Avenue and Monterey in Hermosa Beach, will host its grand opening on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The store offers nearly 200 wines and over two dozen craft beers in an open beamed, rustic wine cellar atmosphere.
The wines range from the well-known Chardonnay favorites such as Rombauer and Merryvale to more unique boutiques wines such as Pfendler’s Chardonnay and Pinot and Talmadge’s Red Blend.  Wines from eight countries are represented, includingChile’s Carmenere andItaly’s highly coveted Montalcino Brunello. 
While tasting the wine and beer, customers can nosh on cheeses, charcuterie, dark chocolate and desert bites.  Owners Kathleen Knoll and Gerry Athas-Vazquez see the shop as a gathering place to experience wine in the company of like-minded people. 
Uncorked also offers cheeses, olive oils, vinegar, caviar, olives, crackers and prosciutto, gift baskets and wine accessories. For a calendar of events visit their web site.
