Compton rapper “Guerilla Black” was among the six people arrested Wednesday in connection with a fraud investigation conducted by the Manhattan Beach Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service.
Others arrested were Dwanna LaShaun Franklin, 41, of Torrance, Diana Lynn Waller, 54, of Hawthorne, Rhazon Zaki Smith, 34, of Hawthorne, Reiona Marie Cage, 20, of Inglewood, and Myeisha Renee Leavell, 23, of Los Angeles.
The investigation found that the suspects were allegedly involved in two credit card manufacturing operations, according to MBPD press release.
The suspects could face charges for bank fraud, aggravated identity theft and fraud in connection with computers, access device fraud, use of stolen credit card accounts, receiving stolen property and conspiracy, according to MBPD.
The 33-year-old rap artist, whose legal name is Charles Tony Williamson, is on pretrial release after being indicted on numerous fraud charges in Washington.
Police believe that each “criminal enterprise” profited more than $20,000 per month.
The alleged fraud scheme affected a number of banks, including American Express, Capitol One, Chase, Citibank, Bank of America and Kinecta, as well as foreign institutions in England, Switzerland, Nigeria, Mexico and more.
