Vandalism

Suspects were observed breaking a business window on the 900 block of Hermosa Avenue on Jan. 1 around 9:40 p.m. by a witness. The suspects were later arrested in the area, police said.

 

Mediterraneo burglary

A purse was stolen at 73 Pier Ave. on Jan. 16 around 12:45 a.m. Officers reviewed the videotape and describe the suspects as two males between 30- and 40-years-old.

 

Smashing event

Two windows of parked cars inside the downtown parking structure were smashed on Jan. 16 around 6:30 p.m. Nothing was taken from the vehicle and there are no suspects.

 

Frightened thief

Suspects were seen taking items from the CVS at 155 PCH on Jan. 2. According to police reports, when confronted by employees the suspects fled from the property.

 

No more music

A stereo and navigation were stolen from a vehicle on the 700 block of Hermosa Ave on Jan. 3.

 

Open door, stolen stuff

A laptop, GPS and iPod were stolen from an unlocked vehicle on Pier Ave and Loma Drive on Jan. 5.

 

Reminded recyclers

Recyclables were reportedly taken from Hermosa Ave and 8th Street on Jan. 14 around 7 a.m. Two subjects were contacted and advised of city regulations.

 

Third row theft

The third-row seat was stolen from an unlocked GMC Denali on The Strand on Jan. 6.

 

Hunting season over

Somebody called the police on Jan. 8 near First Street and PCH claiming that a man with a rifle was seen walking around the neighborhood. Police were unable to locate the suspect.
