United State Coast Senior Chief Petty Officer Rick Bolton made his final helicopter rescue hoist descent into the ocean Friday afternoon. The Torrance resident is retiring after 30 years with the Coast Guard. Most recently he was stationed at the Coast Guard Air Station at LAX. Long time friend and Coast Guard Master Chief Jim Brandt dropped with Bolton from the copter to the ocean. The two were met in the water next to the Hermosa pier by surfing buddy Michael Corkery. Bolton’s wife Carrie and the couple’s three children welcomed the trio on the beach.
