Two Manhattan Beach residents were held at gunpoint for several hours Thursday night while two suspects burglarized their home, police said.
According to MBPD, a female adult resident arrived home in the evening to find two men burglarizing her residence on the 1600 block of 5th Street. Upon confrontation, they tied her up and kept her at gunpoint for several hours while they ransacked the house.
The father of the victim arrived several hours later and was held captive in their home as well, according to police. When the suspects finally fled with “several items” around 12:30 a.m. Friday, the two residents immediately called police, Zara Tucker of MBPD said.
“We responded to the robbery, so we didn’t know about it until it had already happened,” Tucker said.
Crime scene investigators responded to the scene, which was processed for evidence. Detectives are following up on all leads, according to police.
The first suspect is described as a black male between 25 and 30 years old, 5-feet-10-inches tall with a medium build wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The second suspect is described as a black male between 20 and 30 years old, 5-feet-10-inches tall with a medium build and also wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
