Walk for a cause

The Pregnancy Help Center (PHC) in Torrance is holding its 26th annual Walk for Life Saturday, May 18. The walk begins at 8:30 a.m. from Veterans Park in Redondo Beach and ends at Torrance Beach. Registration opens at 7:15 a.m. Proceeds benefit the PHC, a non-profit committed to helping pregnant women in crisis. Visit the event website for more information.

King Harbor Sea Fair

The King Harbor Yacht Club is hosting the 2013 King Harbor Sea Fair on Sunday, May 19, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be live music, food and beverages, a puppet show, crafts and activities for kids, stand-up paddleboard classes, and free outrigger canoe and sailboat displays. Lost NBA ring

Former assistant coach for the Seattle SuperSonics, Mike Uporsky, lost his NBA championship ring in Redondo Beach last week. The ring, worth more than $100,000, was awarded for the Sonics’ 1979 title. Anyone with information should contact the Redondo Beach Police at (310) 379-2477.

Spring Concert

The Redondo Union High School Band is performing a free spring concert on Wednesday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the school’s auditorium on N. PCH.

Wizard of Oz

The Beach Cities Health District is running a six-week group to address the needs of people and/or their loved ones living with chronic health conditions.
