Barefoot runner Patrick Sweeney (he actually wears a pair of thong sandals) won Saturday’s Manhattan Beach 10K in 32:43, followed by Rick Weis of Hermosa Beach (33:27) and John Harrington of Manhattan Beach (33:43).In the women’s division Kirsten Keetch of Redondo Beach finished first in 35:16, followed by Emily Field of Van Nuys (36:24) and Alison Atkinson of Manhattan beach. (36:54).
The race, which celebrated it’s 33rd year, attracted 3,555 runners.
