Beach charities – Richstone Lifesaver Award

“Diamond” Dave Rohrbacher, general manager of the 900 Club in Manhattan Beach, was presented with the Richstone Family Center’s annual Lifesaver Award during Richstone’s 6th Annual Endless Summer Beach Party on the beach in front of the Redondo Charthouse last month. The 400 guests helped raise over $120,000. “Funds raised from this event are critical in keeping our therapy and wellness services operating for children and families who need them most,” Richstone CEO Roger Van Remmen, said in thanking the guests. Richstone was recently recognized as a Nonprofit of the Year by the California Association of Nonprofits.
Local restaurants who donated their food and services included the Shade Redondo’s SeaLevel, Bluewater Grill, El Gringo, New York Food Co, Simmzy’s, BaleenKitchen, Chart House, Hermosa Beach Fish Shop, R10 Social, Craigers, the Bottle Inn, Leslie Schirle, the 900 Club, Mascarpone Cheesecakes, and Charlie’s.
Major sponsors of this year’s event included King Harbor Marina, the Bay Club, Charles E. Thomas, King Harbor Association, Comerica Bank, and Chevron.
