Basketball

The South Bay Athletic Club will hold its annual Senior All-Star Games today at South High. The girls tip off at 5:30 p.m. and will feature All-CIF honorees Jasmine Rutledge and Jordyn Priestly from Mira Costa. The boys follow at 7 p.m. with Redondo shooting star Jamar Cannon, an All-CIF Division 2AA first team selection, and Mira Costa big man Eric Mochalski (1st team All-CIF Division 2A) showcasing their talents.

Registration is open for the HAX Youth Basketball League for boys and girls grades 2-5. League play begins Friday, April 17, at Hangar Athletic Exchange, 3203 Jack Northrop Ave. in Hawthorne. Volleyball

The California Beach Volleyball Association will hold a tournament featuring women’s A and men’s B divisions Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. at Rosecrans in Manhattan Beach. To register, visit www.cbva.com or for more information, contact Kurt Peters, 310-922-6279.

Registration is open for Manhattan Beach 2-person Coed Men’s and Women’s beach volleyball leagues that begin play in mid-April. Games will be held south of the Manhattan Beach pier from 6-8 p.m. Cost is $150 per team plus additional fee per non-MB resident. Team captains can register their team of two at www.citymb.info. The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) will hold its Spring Classic beach volleyball tournament Sunday, April 19 at Dockweiler Beach in El Segundo. Running

The Redondo Union High School Athletic Association and the Redondo Union High School Alumni Association will hold the Striff/Seifert Memorial Track Meet on Saturday, June 5 at 12 p.m. Admission is free. Participation fee is $25 per person. A pancake breakfast will be served the morning of the event in the RUHS cafeteria at 9 a.m. ($10 per person). Baseball

Registration is open for the Pitch, Hit and Run contest to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Alta Vista Park in Redondo Beach on Saturday, April 17. Boys and girls ages 7-14 will have the opportunity to advance through four levels of competition, culminating with the finals held during All-Star week at the 2010 MLB All-Star game to be played in Anaheim. Tickets are on sale for Total Fighting Alliance’s 17th event, “Fight for Your Right.” Consisting of nine hardcore cage fighting bouts, the event is scheduled for Saturday, April 17 at 5:30 p.m. at HAX, 3203 Jack Northrop Ave., Hawthorne. Tickets are available at tfafights.com.

Golf

The 23rd Annual Warrior Athletics Golf Classic will be held Friday, May 14 at the Los Verdes Golf Course. Proceeds benefit the El Camino College athletic program. The tournament format is a four-person scramble beginning at 1 p.m. with award dinner to follow a 6 p.m. Entry fee is $145 per player and includes: Green fees, cart, mulligan package, tee package, all contests, dinner and 10 raffle tickets. Camps

Kurt Baker of Star Sports Performance is hosting free speed, power and agility camps on Saturdays from 8:30-10 a.m. at Aviation Field to teach the lifts and movements used to build powerful, explosive and fast athletes. Baker holds a degree in exercise with over 25 years experience and is certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a USA Weightlifting Coach and a NIKE SPARQ Testing Coach. Space is limited.
