More than 156,000 fans watched talented up-and-coming and professional beach volleyball players compete on the hot sands of Hermosa Beach when the first of two local AVP tournaments was held July 26-29. Both the men’s and women’s championship went extra time in the third set with Theo Brunner/John Hyden and Sara Hughes/Summer Ross claiming titles.
