Maxwell Brothers/Flooring America has gained a loyal following due to owner Felix Green’s close ties to the community. Felix has owned the 40-year-old company since 1989.
“Felix is pretty involved in the community,” said Lisa Jovicic, his assistant. “His kids play a lot of sports so a lot of friends and family end up being our references. I think that shows for itself that’s why we’re popular, because more people are referring us.”
Recently the company installed the floors to the new Catalina Express Terminal in San Pedro. Maxwell Brother specializes in all kinds of flooring including carpet, hardwood, laminate, tile and some granite, though Leann said the best seller these days is engineered hardwood flooring.
“There are a lot of homes in the area that are sand and finish from the floors they had under their carpet,” she said. “So we do a lot of that and staining to match existing flooring.”
