The award-winning nonprofit, locally-governed Torrance Memorial Medical Center boasts programs such as a special burn center, emergency care serving more than 60,000 patients a year, and imaging services both inpatient and outpatient, maternal child health services and a neonatal ICU, a cancer center, treatment for addictions and eating disorders, bariatric surgery, the noted Vasek Polak Research Program, and the Lundquist Cardiovascular Institute.
The medical center has embarked upon a massive project to replace its original main patient tower with a new, seven-level structure with 256 private rooms, 18 surgical and interventional treatment rooms, and the latest medical technologies. -RF
