Bike to Work week: In honor of Bike to Work Day, the South Bay Bicycle Coalition (SBBC) will hold a happy hour today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Rock and Brews, 143 Main St. in El Segundo, with coupons for half-priced drinks and free bike swag from Metro for attendees.
SBBC invites residents, businesses, and employees to participate in the event to celebrate National Bike to Work Week, which is aimed at bringing attention to the health, fitness and environmental benefits of biking. For more information, visit www.la-bike.org.
Aquarium volunteers: Volunteer junior counselors are needed to work summer camps at the Roundhouse Aquarium at the end of the pier. Junior counselors will assist Roundhouse staff run camps where they will teach the campers about local marine life, explore the beach and learn to surf.

Older Adult Fair: More than 10 free health screenings – including those for anemia, blood pressure, chiropractic and hearing — will be offered at tomorrow’s Older Adult Fair at the Joslyn Community Center, 1601 Valley Dr., starting at 8:30 a.m.
Doppler stroke screenings will be available for $20 and by appointment only by calling 310- 802-6177, ext. 1112. Doppler reservations are limited.
The event will feature information booths, a complimentary lunch at noon, and bingo and door prizes from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The Lions Club will repair and recycle attendees’ used eyeglasses and sunglasses for donation to people who need them.
