Adam Buckley, 34, of Hermosa Beach won the 37th Annual Catalina Classic Paddleboard Race on Sunday, August 26. Conditions were nearly perfect for the first 22 miles, with smooth, fast water from the starting line at Twin Harbors on Catalina Island to the R10 buoy, one mile off the Palos Verdes Peninsula. There, the paddlers headed north for the final eight miles against a south moving current to the Manhattan Beach pier finish line.
