Vintage Surfboard Swap Meet at Dive N’ Surf

Woodys, station wagons, bitchin’ old boards, and vintage surf paraphernalia were swapped, shopped, and shown off at Dive N’ Surf last Saturday for the Longboard Collector’s Club hosted Vintage Surfboard Swap Meet.

“It was a great event,” said local longboard ace Mike Siordia. “I’m launching my own fin company, Stateside Fins, and it was nice to check out the different fins for inspiration.”

Surf Sleds: George Barreto’s ’62 Ranchero

A decade ago about the same time George Barreto opened George’s Barber shop in El Segundo after 12 years of being a barber (22 in total), George bought a project ‘62 Ranchero with the dream of building it. As his business became a stable on Richmond St., his fixed-up “Ranch” glowing of turquoise underneath the shade of the trees is a daily fixture out front.

From Los Angeles residents, Shane Borland, Matt Pagan and Dillon Perillo to living legends such as Allen Sarlo, Laird Hamilton and Kelly Slater, 1st Point Malibu was definitely a sight to see.
