The two massive coke drums that arrived in King Harbor on Monday were slowly transported up Pacific Coast Highway to the Chevron Refinery in El Segundo early Thursday morning. Officers from El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach as well as workers operating the slow caravan accompanied 100-foot long steel cylinders that rode atop specialized tractor-trailers in the northbound lanes. Pacific Coast Highway was closed late Wednesday night for the delivery and was expected to reopen at 5 a.m. Thursday.
