The money will go toward science, technology, engineering and math-related programs at South Bay schools, including some in Manhattan Beach. Manhattan Beach Middle School will use the grant toward continuing science and math programs for girls and creating comparable curriculum for boys. The programs will include education in robotics, genetic engineering, alternative energy, bioinformatics, telematics, astrology, astrophysiology, astrobiology, space, ocean exploration and environmental issues.
