Earth Day at Polliwog Park

by Andrea Ruse

Earth Day festivities at Polliwog Park, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, celebrate eco-friendly organizations, alternative vehicles, food and music provided by Dave Kinnoin, The Police Experience, and Jeremy Buck and the Bang. Volunteers and Organizations Improving the Community’s Environment (VOICE) will host the event.

A water-wise class will be held at 10 a.m. in the Botanical Gardens at the southwest corner of the park. VOICE will also offer 15-minute eco-sessions on topics including edible gardens, composting and healthy eating.

Attendees are encouraged to bring clean, lightly used clothing, prescription glasses and documents needed to be shredded for free recycling.
