Endless Session, Day 206: It’s Cold Here

It’s cold here.  I miss 85 degree water and 85 degree air.

Getting in at 1am from Nicaragua and to bed at 2am last night, I still somehow inched my way toward the car when the sun started lifting.

The South Bay air was warm, but the water was freezing with the swell out of the south starting to fill in.  If both would have been cold, I think the shock factor, coming from toasty central america, would have been a tad bit above overwhelming.  Dreading putting on a fullsuit because of the freedom from neoprene I had been enjoying for the past week, I slipped on a short sleeve long john and hit the icy Pacific.

Boy, was it cold.

I miss Nicaragua with every ounce of myself.  So much that I was close to “missing my flight” last night to extend the trip a bit longer.  Even so, it’s good to be home and to see my Hermosa surf family.  Now if the water would only warm up a bit…
