A shooting occurred on The Esplanade in Redondo Beach earlier today that resulted in the arrest of a man and a woman. The Redondo Beach Police Department released the following:
Redondo Beach Police were summoned to an apartment unit in the 500 block of Esplanade regarding a firearm being discharged inside the residence at about 12:50 a.m. As a result of the firearm being discharged, a male subject inside the residence was injured from bullet fragments that ricocheted. The male subject was taken to a local area hospital where he was treated and was released following his medical treatment.
As a result of the investigation, Karen Benjestorf (37) of Rolling Hills Estates wasarrested for the negligent discharge of a firearm, bail amount of $35,000. Ronald Barker, 43, of Redondo Beach was also arrested for battery, bail amount of $20,000. Both defendants have posted bail and investigators will continue their investigation for filing consideration
