About 100 artists will have work to show and sell.

“We felt Hanson’s talents and images of California landscapes would be a perfect fit as our featured artist,” said festival organizer Ken Klade.

Hanson uses as few brushstrokes as possible and yet all of her work is bright and balanced and instantly eye-catching. If you can picture Van Gogh high on the Colorado plateau, where Hanson herself ventures yearly, you’ve got some idea of how this young artist paints.

She backpacks and hikes through areas such as Zion National Park, Canyon de Chelly and Monument Valley. Her other favorite places to paint include Paso Robles, Joshua Tree National Park, and the Anza-Borrego desert. Her work convey that she’s always on the go.

The festival will also showcase emerging young artists.

“Our charter calls for giving back to the community and support of the arts. This includes annual grants to emerging artists and an emerging artists booth where we display up and coming talent,” said Don Adkins.

The festival includes music, gourmet food trucks, plus arts and crafts for children. For more information, call (310) 374-0080 or go to hbartwalk.com.
