Hammerhead Beach Camp co-founders Bruce Kocsis, a 24-year L.A. County Lifeguard and Jamie Bateman, a preschool teacher, teach children from four to 13 to enjoy and be safe in the ocean. A junior lifeguard prep camp is offered for kids nine to 13. They provide higher-than-required camper/counselor ratios, cordoned-off areas for activities and canopies for shade. Each senior counselor is CPR certified. Snacks and drinks are served daily.
