The Hermosa Beach Little League celebrated its 60th Opening Day Anniversary at Clark Stadium on Saturday. Hermosa Valley 6th Grader Clementine Greely opened the ceremony with a stirring rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner.” Then, league president Mark Auville welcomed the players and their families. Former Major Leaguer and current Fox Sports Dodger announcer Steve Lyons called out the teams’ names during the traditional parade around the bases.

The ceremony was held on the newly reconditioned East Field. Improvements to the field were made possible through a donation from Continental Development and the services of local contractors. Representing Continental at the dedication were Bob Tarnofsky, Sherry Kramer and Bennett Talsky, who served as the construction manager. Little League commissioner Scott Manclark and contractor Scott St. John also helped get the East Field ready for opening day ceremonies.
