The actor Charlie Sheen has donated $75,000 to the family of 10-year-old Jasmine Faulk, who is fighting a rare form of sinus cancer. Faulk, daughter of Hermosa Beach Police Officer Everett Faulk, is undergoing 45 session of chemotherapy followed by six weeks of radiation.

Sheen’s stunt double Eddie Braun, who donated $25,000, called Sheen’s attention to Faulk.

Braun has been Sheen’s stunt man for 25 years. Braun heard about Jasmine Faulk and then spoke to Sheen during a small party at Sheen’s home Dec. 9. Braun said he told Sheen about the young girl while the other guests in Sheen’s home were watching the Juan Manuel Marquez-Manny Pacquiao fight.

“Charlie dropped everything and scampered around looking for his checkbook,” Braun said by phone on Tuesday while working on the set of a Butterfinger commercial in Venice.

Braun, of Manhattan Beach, said he empathized with Officer Faulk as a father, and so did Sheen.

“I don’t know the man, but I know he works really hard watching over our families,” Braun said.

Donations for Jasmine Faulk will go toward offsetting insurance co-payments already totaling in the tens of thousands of dollars, said HBPD Sgt. Bob Higgins.

Checks can be sent to the Hermosa Beach Police Department, 540 Pier Ave. Hermosa Beach, CA 90254. For more information, contact Sgt. Bob Higgins at (310) 318-0360.

Checks can be made out to the Hermosa Beach Police Officers Association or HBPOA. For more information, visit jasminefaulk.com.
