Survey on Teen Choice

Hermosa has created a survey to collect feedback about the Teen Choice Awards.

The awards, which took place last Sunday evening, were nationally televised and brought thousands of people to Hermosa. But the high-profile event inconvenienced many in the downtown area. Businesses complained that the closure of parking lots, streets and segments of The Strand led to significant drops in sales during what is typically the busiest time of the year. “We want your feedback so that we may evaluate and apply lessons learned from this experience to future events held in Hermosa Beach,” read a statement from the city.

A link to the survey is available on the “City News and Updates” section of the city’s website.

Mayor joins call for gun laws

Stacey Armato joined more than 200 other mayors from around the country in urging federal action on gun safety laws in the wake of mass shootings in Gilroy, Calif., Dayton, Ohio and El Paso. Armato signed on to the statement last week from the U.S. Conference of Mayors endorsing two proposed bills in the Senate.
