Restaurant burglary

Unknown suspects broke into El Gringo in north Hermosa last month and took money from the business’ safe. The burglary occurred sometime between the evening of June 24 and the morning of June 25 from the business’ storefront on the 2600 block of Hermosa Avenue, according to police reports. The suspect or suspects got into the business through the upstairs deck, then forced open the safe. It was not immediately clear how much was taken.

Gun stolen

A handgun that had been locked inside a gunbox was taken from a home in North Hermosa last month. The victim reported the theft, from a residence in the 400 block of 25th Street, on the morning of June 26. According to police reports, the suspect removed the gun from the gunbox, which was inside the home’s garage.

Break-in at vacant apartment

An unknown suspect damaged a vacant apartment in east Hermosa last week. According to police reports, the suspect broke into an apartment in the 1100 block of Prospect Avenue on the afternoon of June 28. No one was living in the apartment at the time, and it is not clear what the vandal damaged.
