Hermosa Beach police news: handbag heist

Theft of handbags

A shoplifter stole three handbags valued at $350 each Dec. 3 at about 2: 30 p.m. from a business in the 800 block of Hermosa Avenue, and fled in a nearby waiting vehicle, police said.

Fake hundred 

Two woman Dec. 4 at about 2:15 p.m. attempted to pass off a fake hundred dollar bill at a business in the 700 block of Pier Avenue, police said. The women fled before officers arrived but left the counterfeit bill behind, police said.

Drunk trespassers

Two intoxicated suspects entered homes Dec. 7 at 7 a.m. and Dec. 8 at 2 a.m. in the 00 block of 18th Street and 00 block of 10th Street, respectively, police said. Both suspects were taken into custody.

Rape of drugged woman

A drugged woman was raped Dec. 6 in the 1 block of Pier Plaza at 10:30 p.m. when an unidentified suspect sexually attacked her in a kitchen possibly associated with the bar she had been visiting, police said.
