Hermosa for the Holidays a community affair
The Fourth Annual Hermosa for the Holidays celebration filled Hermosa’s downtown the weekend before Thanksgiving with families who couldn’t wait for Christmas. Throughout the weekend, the Mira Costa Choir sang carols while stores held a holidays sidewalk sale. The Hermosa Women’s Club sold holiday baked goods, The South Bay Boardriders’ Surfing Santa listened to children’s wishes and the Hermosa Hermanos youth service club sold tickets to the Ferris Wheel.
Saturday evening on Pier Plaza, Jeremy Buck and the Bang hosted its 19th Annual Rock for Tots toy drive and concert, joined by Barley, Petro Reise, Triple Bueno, Tatiana Erse and South Bay Jam. Sunday performers included the South Bay Music Connection House Band, and Cost Music band.
Then Santa himself sang, accompanied by his elf-playing saxophonist and the band Barley. Santa arrived at the pier aboard the Hermosa Beach/Los Angeles County Fire Department engine. After singing with his band, he listened to children’s holiday wishes.
The Fourth Annual Hermosa for the Holidays weekend was presented by the Hermosa Chamber Foundation, assisted by Kimberly Koffler and Melanie Gourzis of the South Bay Music Connection. ER
