Hermosa Beach Mayor Justin Masey was joined by Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi in leading a wreath-laying ceremony at the Veterans are Timeless Memorial Sundial at the Community Center on Veterans Day. Redondo Union High Marine ROTC cadets Rylie Hamilton, Delany Ferrero, Landon Silsby, and Rowan Bernberg opened the ceremony with a presentation of colors, followed by Diane Plaster singing the “National Anthem.”

Muratsuchi recalled growing up on Okinawa during the years when the island’s military base was a gateway for U.S. forces to and from Vietnam. Following the ceremony, veterans were recognized during a screening in the Community Theater of a video featuring local veterans. The video can be viewed at HermosaBeach.gov. ER
