“Hermosa for the Holidays” plans were outlined by the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce officials this week.

The centerpiece of the Nov. 19 — 21 weekend festivities will be a 1,500 square foot, synthetic “ice” rink, on  Pier Plaza, in front of Hennessey’s Tavern. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids under 12 and include skate rental.

“Who can say they went ice skating without the sub-freezing temperatures with views of the beach?” Chamber president Jessica Accamando asked.

The “open air winter wonderland at the beach” will have “entertainment and activities for the whole family,” she added.  The website notes that “Hermosa Beach has mashed together our Holiday Open House and Tree Lighting Ceremony, and added a bunch of activities.”

Among activities are the “Winter Lodge,” occurring on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 19 and 20, from 5 to 9 p.m., at Crafty Minds Brews + Bites (1031 Hermosa Ave.), offering “a fun night for adults to cozy up with friends.” Guests will be “…sipping on libations, indulging in gourmet comfort foods while being entertained by board games and live entertainers,” the site says. Tickets, which Accamando said are limited, are $100 and available for persons 21 and older.

Crafts workshops, to be found on Manhattan Boulevard next to Java Man, will be conducted Nov. 20.

Other features on Saturday and Sunday include the Sun & Sea Collective, artisan market in the Stars Antiques’ parking lot, at 526 Pier Ave.; open house at Pier Avenue shops; and “Letters to Santa,” with paper and crayons for young ones to write to the jolly old man.

On Sunday, there will be “Photos with Santa” on Pier Plaza next to Café Buonaparte; a “Giving Village” on the Plaza to help support local charities; and the Tree Lighting and Concert on the  Plaza, from 3-8 p.m.

She also announced the startup of a website providing details of the event: hermosaholidays.com . ER
