Running: The 3rd annual Roundhouse Aquarium Fun Run for the Oceans takes place Saturday, June 6 at the base of the Manhattan Beach Pier. The out-and-back beach run begins at 9:30 a.m. and celebrates World Oceans Day. Prizes to the top three runners in male and female age divisions. Starting and finishing at the Manhattan Beach Pier, the Manhattan Beach 5K will be held Saturday, June 20. The course runs along the water’s edge during the lowest tide of the season. 5K race ($35) begins at 7:30 a.m. followed by Kids Races ($25) at 8:20 a.m. Contact Jeff Atkinson, jeff@olympianfitness.com or mb5k.com.

Baseball: Run by Mira Costa coaches and players, the Mustangs Youth Summer Baseball Camp is open to players ages 5-13. Camps run Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.- 12 noon June 22-26 and July 27-31. Beach Volleyball: The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) will be hosting the Hermosa Beach Open on Sunday, June 14 at  the Hermosa Beach Pier. Competition includes Boys 14U, Girls 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U divisions. Entry fee is $75 per team. For more information contact spvcvolleyball.com or visit aaubeach.org.

The City of Manhattan Beach will be holding a Father’s Day Tournament on Sunday, June 21 beginning at 9 a.m. Fathers and daughters, fathers and sons are invited to play in this recreational tournament with pool play only. Competing on short courts will be 10-under, 11-14 and 15-18 divisions. Full-court action features 4-person teams of all ages. Participants receive a t-shirt. Registration available at citymb.info. Triathlon: Registration is open for the 11th annual Redondo Beach Triathlon, which will begin at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, June 14 at the Veteran’s Park/Pier area in Redondo Beach. All of the proceeds go to Cheer for Children, a non-profit organization that gives seasonal parties and raises money for acutely ill children at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. The USAT sanctioned scenic course event consists of a 1/2-mile swim, 6-mile bike, and 2-mile run. Space is limited to the first 600 entries. A non-competitive mini-sprint (half the distances) is also available. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each division and the top two relay teams. Sprint fees are $80 (ages 13-19 and 65 and older), $90 (ages 20-64), $115 (relay). Mini-sprint fees are $70 and $100 for the relay. For more information, visit rbtriathlon.com.

Basketball: Coach Dave Miller, a current NBA and College basketball analyst, has announced his MVP CAMP summer basketball dates to be held at Aviation Sports Complex 1935 Manhattan Beach Blvd Redondo Beach. The Monday through Friday sessions run from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. July 6-10 and Aug. 3-7. Both are open to boys and girls ages 5 -14. Online application is available at mvpcamp.com.
