“A Surfer, Diver, Brother and Son. Kirk was a world class waterman who was inspired by everything ocean,” said Kirk’s brother and founder of the tournament and HookBuzz.com, Clark McNulty.

The tournament wrapped up June 14th at Dive N’ Surf with suds being poured by local brewery King Harbor Brewery.

In keeping with Kirk’s environmental spirit, all proceeds were donated to the King Harbor Ocean Enhancement Foundation in Redondo Beach, California, which is one of 13 white seabass grow-out facilities supported by Hubbs-Seaworld in Carlsbad, CA.

“Their combined efforts help to improve the white seabass population on our coast, which has declined 90% in the last 50 years due to pollution and over-fishing,” said McNulty. “The program has been nurturing and releasing white seabass in local waters for almost 20 years, releasing hundreds of thousands of juveniles into the Pacific annually from San Diego to Santa Barbara.”

Over 20 prizes with a combined value of $3000+ were donated from Dive N’ Surf, Body Glove, Sand Dollar Charters, GoPro, Electric Visual, Celestron Binoculars, Go Wild River Back Packs, MudEnergy Gels, DEEP Spearfishing Magazine, Fish 101 Restaurant, SeaSniper Apparel,HookBuzz Apparel and more.
