A Day in the Garden
Las Candalistas after years of presenting Walk on the Wild Side came up this year with a new one-day event and new location. Renamed “A Day in the Garden… Entertaining and Gardening. with Style,” Las Candalistas members moved to South Coast Botanic Garden this past May. The day included a gourmet lunch, designer tables and vignettes, specialty vendors, found treasures, bake, garden and boutique shops and opportunity drawings. Speakers throughout the day included Las Candalistas member and story teller Ann Hugh, Geri Miller, founder of Home Grown Edible Landscaper, Tim Treiber on Container Gardening, Debbie Barto, the “hostess with the mostest” on how to be a guest at your own party, local landscape designer Ric Dykzeul and Claudia Molter, owner and designer of Sub Rosa Floral Design. Proceeds from the event benefit Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, Pediatric Therapy Network and Sharefest Community Development.
