Tour de Pier Fight and Flight. 10:15 a.m.  

The Tiger Squadron, a nine-member, precision flying team will fly their vintage war planes over the Manhattan Beach Pier in support of the 8th Annual Tour de Pier stationary cycle fundraiser for cancer research. The Tour de Pier was scheduled for Sunday May 17 at the Manhattan Pier, but has been postponed due to the pandemic. Before and after the flyover sports broadcaster Chris “Geeter” McGee will host “Fight and Flight” on Facebook Live and Zoom. The virtual show will feature Tour de Pier celebrity riders and supporters and honor cancer victims and survivors. Guest appearance by singer/songwriter Andy Grammer, whose “Don’t Give Up On Me” is the theme song for the film “Five Feet Apart.”

Donations will benefit the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research; the Cancer Support Community Redondo Beach and the Uncle Kory Foundation for Brain Cancer Research. Since the Tour de Pier’s debut in 2013, it has raised over $7 million for cancer research Donations: TourdePier.com
