Coastal Cleanup Day
Heal the Bay’s 34th annual Coastal Cleanup Day takes place Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon. The environmental nonprofit will organize more than 10,000 people at 70 coastal, inland, L.A. River and underwater sites. Local volunteers will meet at the Roundhouse Aquarium on the Manhattan Beach Pier. Last year, volunteers removed 11.5 tons of trash from Los Angeles County, including 80 pounds of trash and 35 pounds of recyclables in Manhattan Beach.
