Manhattan Beach police are seeking help in locating 11-year-old Risabba Foss.

Week in crime 

The Manhattan Beach Police Department reports that from April 13 to 19 740 calls for service took place, including 14 arrests, four traffic collisions, and 38 crime reports taken. One burglarly took place that resulted in damage to the security doors of a business but no entry and, as a result, no property loss. According to MBPD, criminals have continue to target Toyota Prius’ —  three catalytic convertors were taken from those vehicles during the week. 

MBPD also reports and uptick in pickpocketing. 

“There is an increase of wallet thefts targeting female shoppers,” MBPD weekly report states. “When shopping, make sure to carry a purse that zips shut. Never leave purses, wallets or backpacks unattended in a shopping cart, even for a moment. Pickpockets work in teams. While one suspect distracts the shopper, another removes the wallet from the purse or in some cases, steals the entire purse.”

Over the past month, MBPD reports 20 vehicle burglaries, and five vehicle thefts; 33 larcenies (includes pickpocketing, shoplifting, pursue snatching, bike and package thefts); four business and four home burglaries; seven assaults; one sexual offense; three robberies and one case of arson. ER
